Submitted/Rehab One's Shannon Snodgrass presents Lindsay Brown with an annual scholarship for $1,000.

MADISON - Rehab One Ltd., a rehabilitation company that provides professional therapy and management services at Boone Memorial Hospital since 1998, awarded a $1,000 scholarship to an employee at Boone Memorial Hospital for the 2019 Academic Year.

According to a press release, there were several worthy applicants. The Rehab One Board has selected Lindsay Brown as the 2019 recipient. Brown is enrolled in the nursing program at Southern West Virginia Community Technical College and is entering her final year. She is a therapy tech in the physical therapy department at BMH and worked as a nurse extern for BMH.

Brown has attained the following achievements this past year: Deans List, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, Historian of Class, Clinical of Excellence Award and GPA 3.34. All of this while, working 24-plus hours a week at BMH.

On top of that, community activities have always been a priority for Brown. She volunteered Blood Donation to American Red Cross six times last year, participated in the Dignity Hospice Walk, managed a nursing shirt fundraiser, assisted with the Nursing c/o 2019 Awards Night Ceremony and the Inaction Project Community Thanksgiving Dinner.

Rehab One, Ltd. is owned by Shannon Snodgrass, PT. The Rehab One Scholarship must be utilized at one of the state vocational/technical schools or universities in West Virginia.

"Lindsay is an exceptional employee at BMH, role model in the community and has excelled in her journey of becoming a nurse. We are proud of Lindsay and all that she juggles, all with a smile on her face, Snodgrass said.

Criteria for the scholarship include:

n Literary and scholastic attainment, aptitude, and intellectual promise

n Moral qualifications of honesty, truthfulness, temperance, fortitude, and prudence and justice

n Qualities of leadership, unselfishness, and social fellowship

n Physical vigor as evidenced by an interest in community events and or sporting activities.

The applications will be available in the Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Center Office on or before June 15, 2020. When the application is received by Rehab One, Ltd., the final selection of the winner will be made by Rehab One. The winner must show acceptance by letter into the university in West Virginia or vocational/technical school of their choice. The money will be paid on or before the first day of attendance to the school.
