COMFORT — An Ashford woman was charged in relation to two separate burglary attempts on the same night.

Jenna Mae Hudnall, 31, of Ashford, was charged with grand larceny and nighttime burglary in relation to the alleged incidents, which both occurred in Comfort.

According to a criminal complaint prepared by Boone County Sheriff’s Deputy CT Daniels, he responded to the Exxon at Comfort on June 17 regarding a report that a woman had parked her car and was trying to break into another car. The report then states that the officer made contact with Hudnall, who seemed to be under the influence of a controlled substance and “unable to talk clearly.”

The owners of the vehicle appeared at the scene and confirmed that they did not know Hudnall and that she did not have permission to take the vehicle.

Upon returning the Sheriff’s Office, Dotson noted that another burglary attempt had taken place that night in Comfort and after speaking with the victim, identified the defendant and the clothes she was wearing, according to the report. The victim of that attempted burglary told the deputies that the defendant entered her house and attempted to steal items before being escorted out.

As of CVN print deadline, Hudnall was held at Southwestern Regional Jail on a $40,000 surety/cash bond.
