BILLY GENE NELSON, age 67, was called home to our Lord and Savior on January 9, 2023, at Thomas Hospital in South Charleston after a short illness. Those preceding him in death include his parents Quentin Nelson Sr. and Gertrude Bickers Nelson of Racine, W.Va., brothers Quentin Nelson Jr. of Beckley, W.Va., Donald Nelson of Beckley, W.Va., Charles Nelson of Ottawa, W.Va., and Bobby Nelson of Ravenna, Ohio; sisters Patricia Sizemore of Maple Heights, Ohio, and Carol Bishop of Uneeda, W.Va. Those left behind to cherish his loving memory include his wife Clara Nelson of Prenter, W.Va., his daughter Nikkitta (Cody) Mitchell of Handley, W.Va., brother David Nelson of Bedford, Ohio, sisters Francis Toth of Bedford, Ohio, Dorothy Goodwin of Charleston, W.Va., Edith Yusko of Twinsburg, Ohio, and Lois Adam's of Camp Creek, W.Va., two granddaughters, Jean and Maddilyn Mitchell of Handley, W.Va., and several nieces, nephews, and friends. Billy was a kind and humble man. Anytime he was around, there was constant laughter. He had a dog named Smokey that he loved dearly. He will be remembered for the love and laughter he brought into the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, and friend.
