JACKIE LEE MAY, 79, of Joe’s Creek, W.Va., went to his Heavenly home on September 27, 2021. He was a retired coal miner from Big Mountain Coal at Prenter, W.Va. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ethel and Roy May; his loving wife, Laura May; siblings, Audrey Cooper, Alberta May, Leon May, Helen Lacy and Dennis May. He was a loving father of two sons, Jackie L. May Jr. (Connie) of Danville and Gary D. May (Susan) of Bloomingrose. He was a loving grandfather of seven grandchildren, Corey May (Christina), Eric May (Shelby), Brittany Booth (Josh), Tori Kellione (Grant), Nikki Sampson (Josh), Holli Peterson (Seth) and Kendra Pannell; and great-grandfather of four boys, Azle, J.O., Nix and Zack, and seven girls, Remi, Zayla, Ava, Chelsea, Sieanna, Aria and Helen; surviving sisters, Doris, Pearl, Janice, Ilene, Darlene and Bonnie; surviving brothers, Ernest "Tubby" and Eddie. Services at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, with David May officiating. Burial in Pineview Cemetery, Orgas, W.Va.
