NITRO — The No. 5 seeded Danville Hawks D-Team fell to the Winfield Generals in an early Saturday morning showdown at Nitro, 14-0.

The youngest Hawks can hang their heads high as they finished the regular season strong, winning three of their last four games and knowing that they have several key contributors returning to the team next season.

The No. 1 seeded Hawks C-Team got up big on the Elk River Huskies early as they took a 30-0 advantage into halftime and held on despite two late touchdowns by Elk River to win 30-16.

The Hawks C-Team advanced to the second round of the MSE Playoffs and will play on Oct. 26 against the Winfield Generals at 5:30 p.m. at Winfield Middle School. See coverage of the Hawks playoff games in the Coal Valley News.

The No. 4 seeded Hawks B-Team steam rolled through the No. 5 Buffalo Bison B-Team 30-0.

The Hawks B-Team advance to the second round of the MSE Playoffs and will play against the Nitro Wildcats at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27 at Sissonville Middle School.
