RIPLEY — The Danville Hawks Youth Football League traveled to Ripley on Sept. 16 for a tilt with the blue and white.

The Hawks D-Team played the St. Albans Scarlet Dragons due to Ripley not having a D-Team of their own. Unfortunately for the youngest Hawks, they were defeated by the Dragons 36-0.

The Hawks other three teams all gained victories as well as putting up a lot of points. The Hawks C-Team won 34-0 and remained undefeated on the season, improving to (4-0).

The Hawks B-Team got back in the win column in a big way by beating Ripley 56-0 and improving their record to (2-2) on the season.

The final matchup of the day featured two unbeaten teams in the Hawks and Vikings A-Teams. The Hawks jumped out to a 34-0 lead at halftime and held off the Vikings easily 54-18, improving their season mark to (4-0), as they reach the halfway point of the MSE schedule.

Next the Hawks travel to Poca to take on the Dots out of Putnam County, before returning home on Sept. 29 for their homecoming and “Gold Rush” game versus the Hurricane Redskins.
