BECKLEY — Princeton High netted the first 23 points of the game as it beat Sherman 75-55 in a consolation game of the 2019 Little General Battle for the Armory on Dec. 28 at the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center.

The Class AAA Tigers (5-2) created 32 turnovers and snagged 18 offensive rebounds to bounce back from a loss Friday night.

Both squads made 40.5% of its shots but the Tigers launched 34 more attempts than the Tide (1-4).

Sherman played noticeably better in the second half as they found balanced scoring after beating the Tiger’s ball pressure.

Peyton Brown led the Tigers’ offense with 22 points with nine assists, five rebounds and five steals.

Also netting double figures were Braydon Quesenberry with 12 points, Delathan Wilbon with 11 and 10 from Brady Martin.

Martin had four steals and Jon Wellman grabbed a team-high eight rebounds for the Tigers.

The Tide were led by 12 points apiece from Logan Green and Chris Abbot with Alex Kirk adding 11.

Sherman next plays at Midland Trail on Jan. 9.
